Just know that this method is most effective with your natural color. You won’t be able to go from blonde to brunette. But black tea can darken blonde hair and chamomile can lighten it—and if you sit in the sun while you have it on will give you even better results.

Make a highly concentrated tea with 3-5 teabags for 2 cups of water. You can either mix it with conditioner, like with coffee, or use it independently. For longer lasting effects, for dark colors add black tea, while for lighter colors catnip.

Beet and carrot juice
If you want to add a natural red tint to your current hair color you can use these juices. You can try the one or the other or mix them up; depending on the shade you want. For a more reddish shade, put some more beet juice (strawberry blonde, deeper red, or auburn). Carrot will give you a calmer reddish orange.

The application is simple and easy. Just apply around one cup on your hair, wrap it up and leave it on for an hour. Make sure you’re wearing some old clothes because it can get messy.
